Joe Heyman has spent his life in the building industry.   It is his passion.

As a teenager, Joe worked on a variety of projects, including apartments, historic renovations and large institutional projects.  He pursued his interest in the industry though a college degree, graduating with a bachelor of science in construction technology from Bowling Green State University.  After graduation he spent six years working in the fast pace of Northern Virginia, first for a custom residential builder then a national commercial developer.  In 1989, Joe moved to Urbanna and formed The Allen Group, Inc.

Joe has taken the company from its humble beginnings to its current position as one of the premiere residential and commercial builders in the area.  The Allen Group, Inc. provides a variety of construction services throughout the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Virginia. As the only builder in the area who is a LEED AP, Joe actively pursues new concepts on the cutting edge of building technology and environmental responsibility.
